I LOVE this post! I am from a SMALL town in Texas. And my hubby’s family lives in Alabama, so I’m familiar with the term “sanging.” Who knows; maybe we’ll end up in Alabama too, and you and I can get together.

I have really missed the blogging world over the past several months and am enjoying doing a bit of catching up. I posted a bunch of pictures of my little cuties today. Stop by if you’re interested!

Oh, I so understand your introduction of where you live! I too, live near a small town. We are an *unincorporated area* – fancy, eh? We boast a post office here too. It burned down once; but it has been rebuilt. My dear grandmother occasionally mentions the time she got the signed mail… We have no stop lights in our area. I laughed out loud when I found out the water department is open 2 afternoons a week for 2 hours! And my grandmother also told me to always be on time mailing my payment because I NEVER want to have to go in person to pay the bill because the road to it only had enough room for one car and I would be in trouble if I met another car…
I love small *area* life. Looking forward to hearing more about yours. *Sangings* and all – we could be neighbors!

I lived in a small town starting as a sophomore in high school. More like a desert hole since I grew up in Az. It was a shock to me to go from city(Scottsdale) to dirt roads and a 28 mile bus ride to school. I didn’t like it but I did enjoy some things about it. The closest store was almost 10 miles away. Crazy! Your small town sounds more lively than my experience. I appreciate friendliness. It’s hard to come by in bigger cities. I guess that’s why I loved meeting all of you at the bloggers’ retreat. I felt the Southern love…

I LOVE this. I too love small towns although I have never had the privelage of living in one. My honey and I are actually property shopping and hoping to build a new home in a small town soon.

MY fave part of living in our smaller town is the fact that each year they open up a manhole in one of the intersections in town and plop atree in it, decorate it and there ya have the town tree. Also, there is a Nativity on the lawn of the firehouse … which also happens to be the City Municiple Building – Ya know, where the MAYOR’S office is! Good stuff!

Plus, people say Merry Christmas!
