i'm in the midst of my parenting years. i have three little boys, the youngest are twins. this post is insightful. we do have to go well withn the times, as you said that no matter what we try to make them fit in. but with that comes a lot of responsibility like making sure they are first in the right crowd.thanks for sharing!hope you'll come visit my blog one of these days too.i'm also in networked blogs in FB.thanks!

At first I thought this was going to packed full of some good ole Mary advice - then I read #1!!!! HA
You are so right. It is very difficult to put off thinking about what others think of us as parents (or women for that matter) and only focus on what God wants for us! It sometimes leads to some tough decisions that go against the norm!! However, if, like you stated, we follow His path for our family we will reap the woderful harvest He has for us!!!

For a moment there I thought I was at the wrong blog!! ha ha! But you are so right! So often in our society children are taught wordly ways at such an early age. But it is godly ways through which they will find true joy. Thanks so much for this post!

Amen! Preach it! Couldn't agree more! What's wrong with people?

Parenting, society, and the world has just changed. Plain and simple. Everyone wants to be the "it" person and not do the right thing or the hard thing. God forbid we hurt someones feelings by speaking the truth in love or just not doing what everyone else is doing.

I could talk this mess for days. I need help just like us all, but I pray every day that God reveal His path and His ways to me with lightening speed when it comes to these kiddos.

Love ya Mary!!!

Love this post! As a new parent, I have found it so easy to "compare" my child to the children of my friends and in turn, wonder why my child is not doing what their child is doing (crawling, walking, etc.). It is so easy to get caught up in that trap on comparing your child to other children. I refuse to fall into this trap and as you say, allow my child to be molded into who God has created Him to be! Love this post! Thanks for sharing!
