I wish that Rt. 66 was near coastal NC. I would definitely put together a group of women for coffee and chocolate!

I received you book as a prize from Sheryl. I’ve spent the afternoon reading it and cherishing your beautiful, servant’s heart. It was a needful “read” for me. I’ve usually been the girl planner for tons of get togethers, etc. When we move here nearly two years ago (my husband is a pastor), I left my girls back at our old church. Soon after arriving here, I got sick. Long story short, I have no significant face-to-face friendships in my life right now. Tons of on-line, over-the-miles friends, but none close by. My endeavors to reach out and make friends hasn’t been very fruitful.

I am leading a small group Bible study, beginning on Monday, and I know I will be glad for “community.” But you know what I realized today while reading your book (and truthfully while doing a lot of soul searching over these past several weeks)… I’ve lost my confidence. A lot of it died with the chemo. I’m not the person I used to be, and this realization brings a lot of pain with it.

Anyway, all this to say, thanks for the encouragement of your book. I am going to pray, pray, pray, for God to put some precious friends in my pathway, and then I’m going to muster up my courage and reach out and grab them!

Thanks for being a friend to me, even though we’ve only shared a few laughs. Laughter is, indeed, good, rich medicine for the soul.

May God continue to open up doors for you to speak your heart to women on your spring tour. I know it’s going to be a well-watered, grace-filled blast!

And congratulations on a fine piece of literature. Well done.
